I get this craving at least once a month. Perfect with turkey bacon. And, I recently picked up some bourbon barrel aged real maple syrup at the grocery.
2 or 4 slices Italian or French bread (I make extra and keep it in a Tupperware to microwave the next day)
1/2 cup egg beater
1 sprinkle nutmeg
1 grind of the grinder Pink Himalayan salt
1 T Unsalted butter
Melt the butter in a nonstick skillet. Dip each piece of bread in the egg & spices mixture and fry until browned on both sides.
Serve with 1/2 T real maple syrup, no need to add extra butter.
